The most common uses for artificial turf surfaces are: front & backyard lawns, dog runs, pool areas, playgrounds and putting greens. Many people even use artificial turf on concrete applications, such as patios! Ex Design Group can provide “Do It Yourself” packages as well for artificial turf projects measuring under 300 square feet.
The life expectancy of our artificial turf is approximately 25 years depending on daily traffic. We provide a limited 8-year warranty by a 3rd party insurer for all of our synthetic turf clients. We are the only synthetic turf manufactures that offer this type of warranty to better support our clients.
The ProGreen synthetic grass truly has the appearance of natural grass. Not only does ProGreen Synthetic Grass™ look real, it feels real and even smells like real grass! Fiber length about 1″ to 2.5″ depending on turf product.
No. Each fiber has built-in UV Inhibitors that are mixed into the fiber yarn. Some artificial turfs that are made outside of the USA often have inadequate UV protection which cause fibers to break down prematurely. All ProGreen™ turf is made from the highest quality materials manufactured 100% in the USA.
Average pricing ranges between $7 to $9 per square foot and about $14 to $22 for putting greens. There are several factors that are calculated in final install pricing, labor, ground removal, base compaction, turf, infill, and materials. Ex Design Groups minimum installation cost is $2,100 plus tax and is priced for all artificial turf installs 300 square feet or less.
Top-dressing or Infill material (ZeoFill Organic Infill) is brushed into the fibers of the grass bed adding weight and acting as a ballast stabilizing the artificial turf to the ground. Turf edges are nailed down with non-corrosive landscape spikes spaced approximately 3′ apart.
ProGreen Synthetic Grass™ is recyclable and is available with an eco-friendly infill material. Installing artificial turf eliminates the need for harmful chemicals found in pesticides and fertilizers which soak into the Earth’s soil. Moreover synthetic grass promotes water conservation because it never needs to be watered. Reducing water usage is especially important during increasing drought periods.
Pet urine does not damage or stain artificial turf. ProGreen artificial turf has drainage holes approximately every two inches that feeds into a drainage system beneath the turf and back into the earth. The same way you manage pet waste with natural grass, you also do with artificial turf.
Fallen leaves and twigs can be swept away using a broom or leaf blower. Depending on foot traffic turf may need to be brushed to refresh fibers, but this is only recommended, not mandatory.
First 3″ to 4″ vegetation, sod or dirt must be extracted. A blend of crushed rock is then smoothed and compacted on the excavated area to be used as a base. Artificial grass is then rolled onto the base and seamed where necessary. (Please note: turf widths are 15′.) ZeoFill infill is spread over the grass blades and brushed into the thatch of the artificial grass. Installation for synthetic putting greens are similar however, they require additional layers of base materials to be thoroughly compacted.
ProGreen Synthetic Grass™ has pierced holes in the backing strategically placed every 2″ to allow water to drain into the crushed rock base and into the ground naturally. Drainage closely mimics natural grass. Different installation factors call for different crushed rock mixtures, per applications & permeability needs.
